Len Goodman was a charming, cheeky, down to earth man.  He supported Demelza for many years in any way he could and agreed to become a Vice President in 2014.  

Len had the personable, human touch; nothing phased him.  When visiting our hospice, a young person who was heavily dependent upon using a wheelchair wanted to 'have a dance' with Len, he didn't hesitate.  With her carer, Len had her up on her feet taking a few dance steps with him.  I don't know whose face lit up more - hers or Len's!!

Len opened the Goodman Tree at Demelza where people can celebrate the life of their loved ones.  It has provided great comfort to people and a source of income to support our work with life limited children.

I last saw Len when he did a reading for Demelza at our Celebration of Christmas at Canterbury Cathedral on 19th December, 2022.  He had everyone laughing, his voice as steadfast and recognisable as ever, the consummate professional and ultimate entertainer.
